Elena, a awesome designer friend of mine, has put out a new theme via Smashing Magazine called Dilectio and it is definitely interesting and visually appealing.

“Over the last year Elena, the creative mind behind Design Disease team, has designed a number of free WordPress themes, as the Smashing WordPress Theme we released as a present for our readers during our One-Year-Anniversary in September’07. Afterwards we’ve contacted Elena and asked if it’s possible to design another Wordpress theme for our readers. Elena agreed.

If you love the WordPress logo, and want to sport it everywhere you go, they now have hoodies. Winter where I am in Canada, hasn’t gotten all that cold yet, but a nice hooded sweatshirt would be perfect for the current temperatures outside.
They recently put up a post on the WordPress.com about the new gear, and I have to admit it is very tempting. A hooded sweatshirt will run you $32 USD if you live in North or South America, and 16.00 GBP if you live elsewhere.

A very urgent and important security release has been put out by the WordPress team. It will hopefully, and likely be the last update until WordPress 2.4.
From the WordPress blog:
WordPress 2.3.2 is an urgent security release that fixes a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts. 2.3.2 also suppresses some error messages that can give away information about your database table structure and limits and stops some information leaks in the XML-RPC and APP implementations. Get 2.3.2 now to guard your blog from these disclosures.
I suggest everyone head on over to the WordPress Download page and upgrade today. It isn’t a major revision and thus shouldn’t cause any issues, but I still recommend backing up your WordPress, as it never hurts to have a backup copy.

According to entries on The Huffington Post, Inside Cable News and TV Newser Fox News anchor Alan Colmes has a “secret blog” called Liberal Land. Alan now links to the blog from his website so it really isn’t much of a secret anymore. The blog is located at www.liberalland.com and liberalland.blogspot.com. Colmes has been posting to the blog since November.
Alan Colmes is the liberal host on Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes show. On the blog he has been discussing political issues like Bush’s dissaproval ratings, Halliburton and Dick Cheney. Many of the recent posts are about the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. The vast majority of the posts are political in nature but Alan Colmes has also blogged about some non-political subject matter including Paris Hilton and the Dramatic Prarie Dog. Colmes’ blog is not affiliated with the Fox News channel.
